It is the transfer, via the healer, of the natural energy within the universe.
Healers have the ability to link with this energy and channel it to you. A healer's objective is to restore good health through the balancing and harmonizing of mind, body and spirit, the three elements of your being. This is a simple and gentle process. Healers will usually begin either by sitting in front of you and briefly holding your hands or by standing behind you and gently placing their hands upon your shoulders. Some may begin by placing their hands upon your head. Such methods of initial contact assist the Healer to attune with you and the source of the Healing Energy. Once attuned they will then place their hands on or a short distance away from various parts of your body as and when inspired. This will probably include the area which you feel is giving you trouble. At all times he or she will be sensitive to your modesty. Do tell the healer if you do not wish to be touched.
During the healing treatment relax as much as possible. The healer may help you with this process if necessary through a variety of breathing and visualisation techniques, whilst also making sure you are comfortably seated/lying. Try not to be anxious and to have an open mind. A positive attitude will help the healing process. You may feel a sensation of heat or coldness emanating from the Healer's hands. Perhaps too a slight tingling or trembling. You are likely to experience a feeling of peace and calm enveloping you as the treatment progresses. At the end of the session you will hopefully be relieved of tension, relaxed, more supple and have an easing of pain.
Sometimes one treatment is sufficient, but it is often progressive and the results are gradual. Do not become discouraged if early results are not forthcoming. You may begin to realise you are calmer, healthier and more confident. It is rare for anyone to attend for a period on a regular basis without benefiting
No person, doctor or healer can guarantee to cure illness and our Code of Conduct forbids us to claim that a cure can be effected. Healing complements, and is NOT an alternative to, the treatment provided by your doctor.
1. A healer must always ask whether you have consulted a doctor about your medical condition and formally advise you to do so if you have not. 2. A healer is forbidden to countermand the advice or medical treatment prescribed by your doctor or advise upon it. We would like you to tell your doctor that you are receiving healing. A growing number of doctors nowadays refer their patients to a healer or have them working in their practices. Many hospitals, hospices and nursing homes have healers working in them too. The Patients' Charter will support you if you ask your doctor to refer you to a healer
Yes. Pain is often alleviated and for many a sense of peace and tranquillity is experienced. The fear of death felt by some may also be dispelled. The bereaved too can often find much comfort and strength from healing.
Our Code of Conduct and Professional Indemnity Insurance conditions demand tliat we do so. A brief account of your condition is recorded and a report made at each subsequent visit concerning progress etc. These records are regarded as strictly confidential and the information is accessible only to the healcr/s and patient.
Yes - talk to the healer (or receptionist) about it and they will arrange things for you if at all possible
Many healers do not charge. Others will accept a donation towards their expenses - travel, premises rental etc, and some charge a fee. It is sensible to raise this question at the outset.
The decision is entirely yours. Healers take a deep interest in their patient's welfare and wellbeing. It is therefore courteous to advise them if you decide to discontinue, particularly if they operate a timed appointment system.
